I am a registered nurse at Henry Mayo Hospital & I work on the "stroke" floor. On March 26th of this year, I developed Bell's Palsy. Unfortunately for me, the neurologist's at work said I was having a stroke, because my face had started to droop in a matter of minutes. My left eye would not close, my mouth would not close on the left side, my coffee fell onto my scrubs as I could no longer even drink from a cup. My right eye blinked consistently in an attempt to help the left one close, which did not work at all. The pain and pressure that developed behind my ear was unbelievable as it stretched across the left side of my face. Did I mention the light sensitivity of my eyes ? I could no longer go out side with out my eyes burning/tearing non- stop. Three days later I received an actual diagnosis of Bell's Palsy, but was informed the paralysis of my face could last up to 6 months or longer. My son referred me to his friend, Ken Gee, who in turn referred me to you. What amazes me is, I work in the medical field and never truly realized the importance of keeping our bones in proper alignment, and when out of place how they can actually pinch the delicate nerves and blood supply that feed our bodies and keep our immune systems strong.
Within two weeks of visiting your office my face had returned to normal, and was fully functional, the paralysis gone. I still need some work, but it's only my bones now and that's ok. Thank You Dr. Ron for educating me, for treating me when I thought there was no hope in sight, and for making me functional and whole again.
Sincerely,
Pamela Wheat Rn
